Right away, one gets the impression that Pippa knows who to hire musically, as the group's ''in toto'' version of ''Summertime'' expresses the very essence of swing. There is a vital drive that is manifest in Wilson's delivery that resists analysis. My subjective read of her talent is: It is this combination of undefined 'forces' which she's able to create with a vocal style of rhythmic fluidity, without which the group's level of swing might be markedly attenuated. All in all, Pippa & the group convey the quintessence of swing to the listener with an ideal tempo, & a soft sense of musical relaxation...
